H R Lee Auditorium, Utelei, Pago Pago
This historic Fale Laumei building had a major facelift in 2007. The auditorium was officially named the H. Rex Lee Auditorium in honour of the territory’s first governor (who was appointed to the post in 1961 by US President John F. Kennedy). Translated, Fale Laumei literally means “Turtle House” (named so because the buildings shape resembles that of a turtle).

This training provides an introduction to APNIC, and explains the key essentials of Internet resource management. It focuses on understanding the structures, processes, procedures, and policies involved in requesting, allocating, and managing Internet addresses (IPv4 and IPv6) and Autonomous System (AS) numbers.
IPv6 Workshop
This course provides an understanding and hands-on exposure to IPv6, its structure, operation, and technical features. IPv6 addressing and architecture is discussed in detail, and the issues related to the deployment, transition and coexistence with IPv4 are examined.
This course also includes hands-on IPv6 configurations on host computers as well as IPv6 network building and configuration scenarios. Participants will have the opportunity to work on lab exercises related to deploying IPv6 in dual-stack operational IXP/ISP environments as well as native IPv6 transit.
IPv6 policy and address allocations are discussed, as are the issues related to the current status of IPv4 free pool allocation and the deployment status of IPv6.
- It is highly recommended that participants bring their own laptop computers (At least Pentium 4, 1gb Ram, DVD drive, with administrative access to system) to practice the lessons learned during the workshops.
DNS/DNSSEC Tutorial
The Domain Name System (DNS) is a critical part of Internet infrastructure and the largest distributed Internet directory service. DNS translates names to IP addresses, which is required for web navigation, email delivery, and other Internet functions. To guarantee the availability of Internet services, it is important for networking professionals to understand DNS concepts, configurations, operations, and security aspects.
This tutorial will discuss the concept of DNS and security mechanisms, such as TSIG and DNSSEC. The deployment of DNSSEC will be discussed in detail with demonstrations.
