Clothing

It will be hot and humid. Average daytime temperatures will be in the low 30s. At night it will cool off by a few degrees, but it is always humid. So light cottons, shorts in the day time. Long trousers for early morning and evenings will help protect against mosquitoes. It is considered culturally insensitive to dress in extremely revealing clothes. Bikinis and trunks are best left for the privacy of your hotel or the beach.

Choice of Tours and Activiities

DMCK offers a variety of tours & activities for husbands and wives who may accompany delegates to Rarotonga - one of the favourites being a walk with our famous person "Pa - the medicine man"!!! or a lagoon cruise on beautiful Muri Lagoon, or a day trip to Aitutaki known as one of the most amazing lagoons in the world.

Getting to Rarotonga, Cook Islands

The following informations are indicative only for easy reference, please contact directly the airlines and hotels for accurate information.

Most travel to the Cook Islands will be via Auckland or Christchurch, New Zealand. In the past there has been a need for overseas transit travellers to get a transit visa. if you have read http://www.rnzi.com/pages/news.php?op=read&id=38563 you will note that NZ is currently revising its policy regarding transit passengers. Please see your local NZ immigration branch or New Zealand High commission branch for the lastest update or visit www.immigration.govt.nz for more information.
