PICISOC encourages all celebrations, collaborations, connections, creativity and freedom activities. By the end of the day, the Web should be just a little bit better than it was before, and we'll be able to see our connection to it more clearly.
PICISOC encourages its members but also the public, the ISPs, organisations, companies and governments to organise many activities on this day to remember what the web has done to their society, school, department, community, business, church or family etc.. It does not have to be something major but something that can be recognised.
Here some suggestions:
- Internet Cafs can offer reduced prices or free internet services,
- ISPs can offer reduced internet rates for that day,
- ISP or internet providers can offer free hotspots for that day,
- Radios can ran special programs,
- Televisions can ran special programs,
- Teach someone or a group of people about the Web,
- Run a free course about the Internet,
- ...
