12 Unitech staff undergo Information Security training from APNIC

Twelve (12) PNG University of Technology staff attended a one week Information Security Workshop at the Lae International Hotel last week.
The four day Asia Pacific Network and Information Centre (APNIC) workshop was attended by 35 participants from various companies that looked at various tools and techniques that would make their respective
organisations more secured.
The workshop is part of a series of training supported by APNIC, ASIA Foundation, Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

PNGUoT staff that completed the training were: Benson Mirou, Sankwi Abuzo and Yaling Tapo (Mathematics and Computer Science); Louis Kevin (Electrical and Communication Engineering); Rodney Naro (Department of Business Studies); Alois Napitalai (Surveying); Pauline Ragat and Decka David (Matheson Library); and George Gonduan, Reggie-Anne Banjua and Cathlyn Kabui from ICTS.

Other participants came from the Divine Word University in Madang and Wewak, Bank of Papua New Guinea(Lae) Nestle, Consort Shipping,Morobe Provincial Administration,MyNet, Digitec, NARI, Lae International Hotel and ICT Freelancers.
